My landscape photography began in Maine where I lived for 20 years and visited as a young adult many times primarily to go canoeing in its northern lakes. Unfortunately for my website the vast majority of these photos are black & white and color transparencies that need to be scanned into digital files. A long winter’s project.
Therefore, the photos in the North American gallery are fairly recent and taken on vacation travels from my current home in New Zealand. These photos are taken while I’m traveling rather than from a home base and while I appreciate Maine and other Northern New England areas, it is the detail in this scenery that I’m attracted to.
My greatest current attraction is to remote wild areas of the American west and the Pacific North West. Hopefully I’ll be fortunate to visit lots more of these areas in the future.
