Autumn rambles are a good way to delude yourself that summer is not really over and a great means of storing memories for the winter ahead.
This autumn we decided to explore our backyard by camping out of our 4-wheel drive truck rather than by boat. However, like good addicted boaters we did manage to sneak in a brief boat trip between road trips when the two photos from Chance Bay were taken from the boat.
The photos in the posted gallery were taken during March and April on several outings that started with the Kaikoura coast then Kennepuru Sound, Titirangi and Chance Bay in Marlborough Sounds at the top of New Zealand’s South Island and culminated in a long weekend of 4-wheel driving in Otago’s Old Woman Range and along the Old Dunstan Road. The Otago region in the south eastern part of the South Island is a favorite area for photographing stark, often other-worldly looking landscapes. The gallery ends with a few skies that greeted us when returning to home base.
Marlborough Sounds and Otago are very different landscapes and a reminder of the diversity of New Zealand’s scenery.
Hope you enjoy the scenes and that you have had good autumn explorations or spring adventures of your own. Everyone deserves a good road trip.
Gorgeous photos Bob, you capture our beautiful country so well. We are lucky to live here.
Love them all. The seascape particularly.
Thank you for seeing ‘our place’ through your lens.
Cheers Bob and regards to Robin also.
